cheers :kickass:
been watching this forum for quite some time now - finally my first post^^ So I got my Behringer 2031 monitors this week and threw some riffs together... still have to get used to their sound and all this mixing/mastering stuff. So does anybody have suggestions to improve my mix? any help appreciated :notworthy

i dont think im really experienced or qualified enough to tell you how to improve it, but i can let you know what i think.

overall a fairly good mix. the snare has a little too much "tin" sound. sort of like Lars Ulrich on St. Anger, but not as drastic. That's just my personal taste. I'd like to hear a little more "snap" out of it.

The kick sounds slightly too dry and mechanical. I prefer a slightly more bassy/thumpy kick.

Again these are just my opinions due to my personal taste.

I do like the humanized feel with the snare playing. It's very tight and doesn't come across as machine like. Were the drums recorded by a person or programmed? Triggered/sampled?

just listened to it again. A few parts of the palm muting on the guitar seem a little stifled. Could use a bit more thickness in them, but that may be due to the playing and not mixing.

thanks for the feedback man:notworthy
the snare is indeed rather tin sounding but I do like this sound^^ gonna experiement with other samples on my next song... With this mix I wanted to go for that dry+heavy kick sound - maybe I went too far :) for the drums I used Toontrack's SD2.0+Metal Foundry. I agree on the palm muting - I actually played pretty tight but after quadrupling the tracks I ended up with this (moreover I couldnt get THE sound of Guitar rig)^^ any more suggestions???
