Hey guys, gonna give you a little background before i delve in. Essentially I came here about 2 months ago originally to try and record my band by myself instead of paying quite abit for the studios around here. Anyways, ignorant and stupid, i figured id just find this Joey patch for the pod and be off on my way making awesome sounding recordings...
turns out it doesnt work like that
So i started trying to learn some stuff, browsing and skimming through different topics finding out what different things do (i knew absolutely NOTHING before this) and now this is my first full mix I did of my band
I only have a few vocals as Im trying to figure out how to make them sit well.
The mix isnt sitting too great in my opinion. The guitar lacks the punch and crunch and the vocals feel like theyre sitting on top.
Im not trying to get a failsafe method of fixing this where im off on my way but I wouldnt mind some feedback on this mix. Im out of ideas and I dont want to overprocess.
BTW, guitar is run through a pod ux2, and the vocals through an sm58

On a side note, this is a fantastic forum and I want to thank everyone for their contributions, I am nowhere near being good at recording, however, I dont feel so completely clueless about everything anymore,
Double side note, this is a comparison of our recording we spent up the ASSSS for, i feel like their vocals and mix sit better, but the guitar sounds like ass.
