FLAC files

It's great for sending rough mixes to someone who may be off traveling, but not for any sort of storage on my personal end. The biggest use i've seen is from bootlegers who wish to keep their shows at a decent MB size without sacrificing quality.

Bootlegging and file sharing is the most common use for them, before Windows decided it wasn't going to work anymore I had a ton of FLAC stuff, as well as some Shorten (another lossless codec). It's significantly smaller if you're pressed for space, and doesn't hog noticeable chunks of your power if you have a CPU that's not somewhere around eight years old.

The funny thing is that those bootlegs in 98% of the cases sound like shit anyways  Sometimes when they label some bootleg A- for example, it only makes me laugh when I hear the actual tracks... More like C-
