The only real problem I had with B/s was that they didn't let you take your own food into the venue. In the end I got so sick of the hot dogs that I had to smuggle a packet of strawberry chewits in in my bra! It was that or starve!!!

It's the same with all venues. Why didn't you just pop out and grab some nosh......the good thing about Bloodstock is you can come and go as you please once you've got your wristband!!!

Ha! It was better than Bloodstock 01 at least! At 01 they ran out of beer totally. The food got very improvised towards the end too. They started selling hot dog buns (no sausage) filled with cheese, appetisingly jammed into a triangular sandwich packet! This was after the "half a burger" stage.

This year I was worried when the pork cob got replaced at a late stage by bacon. The bacon looked suspiciously like slices of pork that had stayed under a heatlamp too long.

As for the wrist bands: great idea if only we could put them on ourselves. Then we could take more care and not spend the first 5 minutes yelping as we lose all the hair off our wrists.

It's all part of the fun really though. It wouldn't be Bloodstock without scary food and cruel and unusual adhesive. :tickled:

One complaint I have about the food at the venue, is the lack of any real vegetarian option. It's either a nasty veggie sausage roll or whatever sandwiches they might have.

Would it really be that hard to dish up a veggie burger or something?

Granted, we can always leave the venue and get something in town, but it's good to be able to just have a quick bite in between bands or eat something whilst queing for a signing.

Food wasn't a problem for me but my friend had a bottle of water confiscated at the door, I thought this was extremely tight! It gets hot in there and you could just get some for free at the bar anyway, so it really did waste his money. Quite quite annoying.

i jus didnt eat lol, nah had 1 hotdog all day and a few drinks here and there but din really need food, jus drink, eat b4 u go kinda thing, maybe i shoulda done that aswell :)hehehe

Its not like they searched particularly hard you know, in a most un-sly way i smuggled inn a bottle of beverage (one of those clear jobbies) for one of my friends in my oh so sly trouser pocket...

I didn't mind too much. I just skipped Paradise Lost to grab a KFC. Thank you Bloodstock! If a good band had been on at that point I'd have been SCREWED. :tickled:

If any of the Bloodstock schedulers are reading this, please make a note to put a crappy band on in that time slot again! :p

  Good call!

Get Paradise Lost back on the bill!

Maybe if Manowar are playing next year we can all meet up and roast a recently slain boar on a spit around an open campfire and sing tales of metal lore while drinking tankards of mead? Would that be possible or would the fire alarm set off?
