Got it out the door brand new for $450, which is an insanely good price for the Cleveland Ohio area..... Shoots pretty accurately too for having such a small barrel. This thing is extremely concealable also, I can put it in my pocket if I wanted too.

Yep 40 S&W.... It came with 2 mags, one high capacity(11rds) and one standard(9rds). I like the extension on the high capacity mag, makes it feel like a full size grip, but that standard mag is horrible. I need to get an extender for it.

fucking awesome!

I just picked up my XD40 Service model (4" barrel) on Friday... i paid $460 including tax and DROS for it... brand new as well...

took it out and put about 500 rounds through it yesterday and its pretty awesome... at 10 yards i'm grouping around 4-5 inches...

:kickass:

Very nice dude! I just bought a Yugoslavian 24/47 Mauser. Hopefully it will arrive at my FFL this week. Next on the list (some time down the road) is a Sig P229, and then an M1 Garand.

The Mauser looks similar to this:

Good call on a Mauser, they are fun to shoot, gotta love those 8mm rounds...
If you are into WWII era rifles, now is the time to buy, they are skyrocketing in price. I picked up a Mosin M44 from 1945 a year ago, it was perfect and I paid $80... I went to a gun show on Saturday, and all the crappy beat up Mosins are selling for $150.... And good luck on the M1, I had a chance to buy one a few years back for $500 and now they are hard to find and expensive as hell. If you want one from WWII, expect to pay ~$1000... If you go Korea era, you might get lucky around $700-800

I really don't get it. That's all.

Until you actually start shooting and collecting, I wouldn't expect you to understand... I never liked guns or anything until I joined the military. Going to a range is some of the most fun you can ever have....

Yeah I love the full size XD's and wanted to get one, not to mention they are a bit cheaper around here than the compacts.... But I bought it to conceal, and the full size XD40 was way to big to hide under my coat...

I may pick up a full size XD45 here soon though, I love that OD green one they have out...

BTW, you guys out in Cali get the shaft with high capacity magazines don't you?

Yeah, I will most likely buy a Korean era M1 Garand from the CMP eventually. I need to chill with guns after the Masuer though...need to save for a trip!

We get screwed here in NJ with high cap magazines too. I have a converted Saiga 7.62 and can use a maximum of 15 round magazines. Also, we can technically have "blocked" 30 rounders (just for the look, blocked to only accept 15 rounds), but our laws do not clearly state what "permanently blocked" means. I'd rather not risk it for that crap. NJ has some of the worst gun laws.

Ohio used to be worse than that, then all of a sudden a few years back the laws became very lax(even with a very liberal democrat as Governor). Hell we can own full autos and .50cals if we want....

Nice!

Well, technically most states *can* have full autos, but obtaining a class III permit here is near impossible. Not to mention the ridicuolous price you would pay for a pre 1986 auto. Would be fun though!

If I ever make it out to Arizona, Utah, Nevada, I am most definitely going to rent and shoot a full auto AK-47. I must!

:)

Yeah, I'd imagine firing a full-auto gun would be a truly unique experience - that said, I really don't feel people should be allowed to own them unless there are ABSURD background checks, which seems to be the case! Kinda feel the same way about a 15-round limit on mags, just the more it separates them from genuine assault weapons the better IMO

Yeah, the mag capacity limit doesn't bother me too much, but the blocking issue does. If they are going state something is legal, they should explicitly state why.

I'd imagine the full auto background checks are quite intensive.

my new XDM.40 w/ Viridian X5L Laser/Light-Combo mounted to the accessory rail.

mags hold 16 years, so 16 in mag and 1 in chamber = a 17 round full load.

Nice I saw those in a magazine last month.... What is the difference between the M series and the standard series?

What is the difference between the M series and the standard series?

(M)ega capacity magazine, a (M)atch grade barrel and the ability to disassemble the gun without pulling the trigger... Plus a few things like a new grip texture, interchangeable backstraps... the M's are more ergonomic and feel better in my hand as well.
