For The UK Members: Rage Against The Machine As Christmas No 1

yep yep, seen the facebook group come up a few times over the last two weeks or so, dont see it happening though

What the fuck is X-Factor? I don't understand what they are even talking about in that article. From what I gather, there is a person that has a single coming out, and people want RATM to beat their single on the charts?

X factor is the UK version of Pop Idol featuring the ever nefarious Simon Cowell and his merry crew, basically it runs through from summer to just before christmas and every year the winner holds a monopoly on the UK singles charts - ie almost guaranteed number 1 or the coveted "christmas single".

Basically everyone whos up for this thing wants to smash that trend by buying a rage against the machine song to try and outweigh the X factor christmas cash in getting to number 1 as per usual.

Not with an attitude like that it wont! It'll only cost 99p and you would be contributing a big "fuck you!" to Simon Cowell and the mainstream British music charts in general.

The group is currently sitting at around 332,000 members, which could be enough people if the X Factor single does badly (Leon Jackson got around 275,000 in 2007)

I'd be all for this if it was another classic that was about to be ruined, but it's not Hallelujah, it's a fucking miley cyrus song this year isnt it? :|

If it's Leonard Cohen's name being taken in vain like it was last year, then count me in, but Miley Cyrus? Come on..

You wouldn't pay 99p to see Cowell be fobbed off by a 17 year old rock song?

Screw the fact that it's not a classic this year, it'll be funny as fuck just if they have to announce that Rage Against The Machine are christmas no 1.

People wanna rebel against the hypocrite industry, an insubstantial product, manufactured "artists" and a massive deluding marketing machine... by buying a RATM song?? Ahaha... sweet lord, the irony!

Brilliant isn't it?

Maybe if everyone bought like.. I dunno, Bitches Brew or something, maybe I'd get behind it.

Nope, its not a Miley Cyrus song, its Journey - Don't Stop Believing.

I'm all for getting the original Journey song to number 1.

They are going to murder it :waah:

Haaa, really?
Oh my.

To be fair, the funniest thing about this whole X-Factor thing is that despite the fact I haven't met a single individual who actually wanted Jedward on the show, they ended up getting signed by Louis Walsh anyway. Not even finalists.
Can you say rigged?

Guys, this might actually fucking work, the X Factor single last year only sold 500k or so, the Face Book group currently has over 700,000 alone, and that's without anyone else!
