Candy, cookies, any bullshit like that is frowned upon. Usually what they do is give it to everyone but the person intended. The reason is that everyone was instructed to tell family and friends not to do it and then they go on and send it anyway.

Sometimes it's not that bad, but usually they either make you watch everyone else eat it or make you eat it all in 2 minutes. That was the Air Force, too...our basic training was just a bunch of screaming and yelling and marching and classes. The Navy's much more rigid, typically. I wouldn't be surprised if the punishments were more severe.

But then again, I'm not in the Navy. I'm just assuming. They might dress up like fairies and have pillow fights for all I know.

Lord Foul, you were in the Navy...could you shed some light on this topic? Were you allowed to receive goodies during your basic?
