For those who buy music

This week:

Gojira - From Mars to Sirius and The Link
Fair to Midland - Fables From a Mayfly
Catherine Wheel - Chrome (re-buy...have it on vinyl somewhere)
Clutch - Robot/Hive Exodus
Converge - No Heroes

Horse The Band : A natural Death
Every Time I Die : The Big Dirty
The Bronx : The Bronx
Joni Mitchel : Court And Spark
Black Sabbath : Mob Rules / Heaven And Hell
Fu Manchu : We Must Obey

I honestly can't imagine that situation, that sounds like no fun at all. That makes me somewhat glad that I'm not going to have to work in music as a full-time job, a good thrash album or two is the only thing that can keep me focused and sane enough to do anything resembling work (like pretending I don't have homework to do while I post nonsense on here before giving up on the boards and bashing my head against a wall until a physics assignment comes out) and I don't know what I could do without it. Music wakes me up in the morning, keeps me from murdering other motorists on the way to school, helps me pretend that I didn't just do the wrong assignment or bomb an exam, makes it easy to ignore people I don't want to talk to before I finally get home, and keeps me occupied at home when I don't have studying to do.

I've found that not listening to any kind of electro music makes me want to kill people a lot less.

Jeff

I feel the same way, unless I'm really really engrossed in doing something, I have to have music on. And when I'm on the bus, if my mp3 player has ran out of battery, I feel the need to kill people, because I can't stand hearing other peoples, complete bullshit conversations about how some woman's fucking cat got stuck in a tree last week, or some shit. And a lot of the time, it helps you pretend you don't have problems, music is such a huge part of my life, and I can't imagine it ever not being.

Hm, I think my life is quite different from most people's lives.

1) I have a car, so I don't use public transport that is full of morons
2) I write new songs almost every day, just the other day I discovered that my "rock songs" folder on my harddrive had 88 unused tracks in it. And I have folders for rock, metal, pop, r&b/hiphop, electro (general), electro (faderhead), ballads, trippy, schlager, acoustic, etc ... all of them are full of stuff
3) I make enough money photographing that I can get up whenever I want most of the time and do whatever I want most of the time.
4) I have a nice girlfriend that I get along with very well
5) my main musical project is getting enough public attention
6) I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and eat right most of the time

All of these things make me happy and content. Especially if you write something new regulary, the feeling of achievement is there constantly. Same with all the other things.

I simply don't have a need to escape from my world very often.

If I found music I liked more, I'd probably listen to it more often ...

just joking man, ;)

better beer, less highway speed restrictions, more mullets.

Edit:... oh, you wanted to know the difference in education. in that case the differences are: better beer, less highway speed restrictions, and more mullets.

Haha, seems like you haven't been here in a while.

But some things (the other two you mentioned) luckily haven't changed yet. And some probably never won't (the beer).

I don't wanna ruin this thread (other people will do I'm sure hehe), but do you mind if I ask why you stayed here? Just curious...

Sorry mate but I think this goes back to James arguement for chilling out. Learn a little tolerance. When you have got batteries the folks on the bus put up with the sound of your mp3 player
