you know, on monument mountain in MA you can find the COOLEST fossils of ancient sea animals carried by the icebergs. they're SO COOL.

well, when my dad was a kid he made all the trails up there that exist on the non-tourist side of the mountain range, so he knows where to find the best ones. i know most every time i've climbed the rocks i've found at least one interesting thing or another, like an arrowhead or a fossil or something.

even the word "fossils" evokes a certain magic - it starts with this soft sound and ends with your tongue doing the glacier scrape against the hard roof of the mouth! I, TOO, LOVE FOSSILS!

(but would rather have the beasts alive)
