REVIEW

FRAGMENTS OF UNBECOMING are a bloody awful death metal band. They have created an album in which all twelve tracks sound that same. The boredom factor sets in quicker than fast drying cement and before you know it you’re looking at your watch and finding that counting the number of birds sitting on a tree far more enjoyable than this pile of twod!

Taking the tracks on an individual level - they are well crafted and the musicians are competent at showing us their wares. The mixes are all in proportion and the death glow from the tracks is very good. BUT they seem to have employed the same tempo, pacing and in some cases the guitar work across all the tracks. This causes a blurring effect upon the listeners’ ears in which tracks cannot be delineated and the album starts to sound like one big slosh.
