I think when he was in Arch Enemy he was just a replacement, so nobody gave a fuck to befriend him. But, hey, just my guess, I could be far off

i saw the rehearsal tapes too, and it seems to me that it's due to his situation... i mean in arch enemy he was just there to fill a place, temporarily... in the same RT, mike mentioned about gives Fredrik and Axe the confindence or whatever, i mean like a good environment

He's a solid guitar player. I think in Opeth he'll be able to finally write and incorporate his stuff, which would make any musician happy.

On the Arch Enemy dvd you have an interview with all band members. Fredrik seems to be happy and cant wait to write stuff for their next album. Amott says he's now happy with Fredrik because it pushes him to be better since he only been playing with his brother for 10 years. They had started to write sick stuff as they say. So I guess Fredrik must have been frustrated to leave. I probably thought he was in the band for a while.

really? that's not a hard question at all IMO. fredrik filled peter's void. plus, like soundave and the others have said, fredrik seems very thankful to be in a permanent band that will be able to support his wife and child.

I believe him and Michael Amott are good friends, but I'm not sure about the others.
