Hey dudes.

There are some new free drum samples up on my site.

Features:
  • Drumagog, Trigger, and Kontakt 4 (4.2.4) Compatible
  • As with all my samples you can control Direct/OH/Rooms Separately
  • Lightly pre-processed by myself (basically HP/LP'ing)

Drums sampled:
  • FVF Custom Maple 16" Tom
  • FVF Custom Maple 12" Tom
  • FVF Custom Maple 22" Kick

SNARE - Sennheiser md441
TOMS - Sennheiser MD 421
KICK - Shure SM7b

All routed through a Trident desk.

It might just be my fatigued ears, but listening to the examples did you leave the snare on/tight (don't know the technical term, not much of a drummer myself!) when tracking the rest of the kit or is that just added afterwards to simulate a room mic of the kit setup ready to play? Sorry if I didn't explain that very well, just something I noticed in the tom examples!

Its because the rest of the kit was set up. The samples were created for a specific album that is going for more authentic/realistic sound, so they left the snare bleed audible. I actually prefer the added presence.

That's fair enough - and it still sounds good anyway. I was mainly just trying to find out if my ears were deceiving me (pulled an all-nighter to get a mix done on time and flippin' shattered now... may try and get a few hours sleep soon before Rammstein show tonight!) :)

Thanks for sharing!
what's the best way to create a second rack tom? Is it better to tune the 12" down or the 16" up? and by how much? or will this introduce some quality issues?
