I just had a thought. I get SO much free music off of blogspot, and I realized, "Geez, this is pretty unfair to the bands, isn't it? :erk: " But I am a broke high school senior, and I AM getting a job this summer, but I feel it would be best to save my money for more important things in the long run, say a car or a house. But I can't help feeling awful when I download an album from a band I really love and want to SUPPORT. Hell, i'll probably buy some albums when I have money, but does anyone else feel this way? Or am I just being a drama queen? :loco:

I used to feel that way.... Then one day I was like "Ya know what, fuck it, I'm buyin em all." A "real" collection looks cooler than a "fake" one anyway right? :p

Amazon can be your best friend. :D

Exactly. :p
I'm ALMOST all caught up with the metal cd's I got..... Now, all the BS radio-rock crap I used to listen to....... :erk:

I download exceptionally rare albums that you can't get anymore (without spending £50+) and demos that were ever made available for commercial purchase. I download the odd leak for journalism purposes - i.e. to review them ahead of release so that people aren't having to wait for Metal Hammer to give it a retarded score a week before the album hits the stores. On the slim chance that I actually like the album, I'll delete it and then buy it upon release - if it sucks (which it usually does) then I'll delete it and not bother. Simple as that.

Anyone who just downloads albums and then doesn't bother buying them is a fucking dickhead.

These are the only two reasons I'll download music too.

I have a collection of around 600+ CDs and a growing vinyl collection too, so it goes without saying I prefer to own a physical copy of an album than a set of MP3s... That, and the music that we all listen to simply wouldn't be able to be produced if it wasn't paid for by record sales etc. It's something I feel strongly about, to the point where if I buy a rare vinyl off eBay for £40-50+ I honestly wish I had the funds to donate something to the band.
