btw there's no bass in it. i don't have a bass guitar.. i'm sorry guys im a noob with production and mixing! does it need a bass guitar to sound good? i just want to see how a somewhat mixed version of this song compares with the original. i just want to learn about this stuff! so please can you mix it without the bass?

It matters a lot. It's the difference between ...And Justice For All, and The Black Album, in terms of production quality. A song will have no balls without the bass pumping the low end, beefing up the guitars.
 
I'll give this a try later this week. Are the guitars DI? If so, I guess I can just pitch shift them and run them through auto tune for bass; albeit crappy bass, but at least there will be some bass. :lol:

And yes, +1 to what the others above me said... a good guitar tone is made up of all the elements in the mix and how the guitars interact with it. Bass guitars add a nice low end bed that the guitar sits on top of. It definitely rounds out and helps shape the character of the guitar.

Nice playing btw! Towards the end though I can tell you were stumbling thinking of what notes to play. lol. it's all good though, some of the melodies are really nice.

Edit: Nevermind, I saw you said "raw signal" files. And holy shit... each wav track is ~127MB?!?!? :err:
