Free - Tons of Sobs

Don't know about that record (it's supposed to be more straight ahead blues as I understand it), but the song 'Alright Now' is a classic. Singer Paul Rodgers later went on to Bad Company (currently to be seen with Queen, a rough gig for any singer, but he holds his own). The guy has a great set of pipes.

"Tons Of Sobs" is a masterpiece and simply slays for the year it was recorded (1968). It's heavier than anything Cream ever released and is on-par with the first Zeppelin album! Paul Rodgers & crew were in their teens when this was released....simply astonishing,
The tracks "The Hunter" and "I'm A Mover" are absolute classics - and help forge the blueprint for metal.
The beauty of this band was their simple "meat and potatoes" approach. It's as basic as basic blues rock gets...drums, guitar, bass, vox, and the occasional organ. Their magic was in the ability to pen memorable mini-blues rock epics that come across as honest as music can be. There's no pretension with Free as there was with Cream (I love Cream too, but Free is better).
ALL Free albums are awesome, but the debut may be their best. I highly recommend you scoop it up, along with:

Free At Last (1972)
Heartbreaker (1973)

Free--One of my all-time favorite bands. Above-mentioned albums are all good. Molten Gold--The Anthology is also very good. Stripped down, British Blues Rock at it's finest. Bass player Andy Fraser played with John Mayall in the Bluesbreakers. was only 16 when he joined Free. Paul Kossoff, died way to young. Check out his band--Backstreet Crawlers.
