What do you chaps like to lube up your wood with these days?

Is there anything I can get to make it a little darker? They say once you go black you d....ok enough with the euphemisms ;)

Seriously is there anything than can taint a lighter rosewood board to something a touch darker? Plus anything in general thats good for the board?

If you wanted to make it darker you could dye with something like this

Yeah looks good but I dare say its best used on pre finished boards such as the ones in the pictures....would be bricking it putting it on a already made up guitar incase anything goes wrong haha

Seems like the Dunlop stuff is getting good praise!

Yeah not after any permenant effects or anything, just a nice feel/coat/sheen/smell

Im actually getting sent some samples of some new acrylic "black marble" and "black pearl" pickguards, so hopefully I might snag one of those if they look good!

Stupidly hard to get them :|

Fret Doctor is ok...but over rated by those silly forum dudes. I use that Gerlitz Guitar Honey, the red stuff. Absorbs faster than Fret Doctor from my experience. Nothing is going to really make your board darker more than temporarily though short of a black stain. Actually I think if it's a really light rosewood fretboard it might turn more red than black when you oil it.

Dunno if you want to do this to the Gibby, looks a bit "ghetto" to me

I used this for ages

I've just used straight up lemon oil for a long time on my ebony fretboard guitar. It keeps me happy and keeps things feeling smooth. Honestly just taking the time to treat your instrument right is enjoyable, especially the way the instrument plays afterwards. I suppose there are better methods potentially, but if it aint broke, don't fix it.

Haha that video was....dissapoint, just spray cleaner on it? :\ EDIT: Just seen PT2....so get me felt tips out and colour the fretboard in? hahahaha

Haha Kyser! I got a bottle of Kyser guitar polish when I first got an electric guitar and only NOW have I finished using the bottle :| So like what 11 years later? haha

Its a toss up between the lemon oil or the Fret Doc....was thinking maybe spending the bit extra on the fret doc might be worth it but im not so sure.
