If its a remake, then unless my memory is failing, then why is Jason (in hockey mask) in this movie? The first friday 13th was his mother in a burlap bag mask

From what I understand about the movie, it's a combination of several things. It's a part remake of the orginal, some pre-quel stuff and some stuff mixed in from Pt. 2 & 3.

As long as they leave the cryogenics, Freddy, space, and the NYC parts out then it should be a decent movie

To hell with all the remakes already. I want a new sequel if anything.

They planned on doing Freddy vs Jason 2 to include Michael Myers, but with the success Rob Zombie had with Halloween, New Line Cinema decided to start doing a remake of Nightmare on Elm Street.

The Friday series actually had a few entertaining ideas..Before Freddy vs Jason was made they tried to pull in Michael Myers but Moustapha Akkad didn't want to lose his cash cow just yet....

Then they went for what I thought would've been the best idea yet which was to be Freddy vs Jason vs Ash (Evil Dead) and Sam Raimi decided in infinite retardness to remake his own Evil Dead movie and would not release the rights (They actually had a script and everything for that flick)

The Freddy vs Jason vs MM idea was thrown out there again, but with the remaking of NOES plus now they're trying to talk Rob Zombie into a sequel which squashed that....And leaves us with what looks like will be a pretty great prequel/first 3 movies re-image..

I'm looking forward to it!!

I like how these 80s B-flicks run reams of sequels out 25 years and then immediately do remakes and sequels without so much as a breather of 10 years. Way back when, a remake had to have at least a generation in between in order to introduce old characters to a new audience.

Personally, they ought to combine ALL of the horror flicks of the 80s into one massive murder fest/fight-out where everyone dies in the end. Freddy, Michael Myers, Jason, that Gozer bitch from "Ghostbusters," the Tall Man from Phantasm, Patrick Demsey as the grown up kid from "Meatballs III" as a convenient victim, etc. And have that guy who played "Reese" in the original Terminator, what the fuck is his name, Mike Bien, appear as the flame-thrower-wielding protagonist.

You forgot to add Leatherface, Bruce Campbell (from Evil Dead), Pumpkinhead, all the Puppets from Puppetmaster, that annoying Leprechaun (from the Leprechaun movies), and all the Critters (from the Critters movies). They should put all of them in the ring in one huge no holds barred battle royal. The only way to get eliminated is to be annihilated.

I liked a lot of the 80's style horror movies, but they should of stopped making them after a 3 or 4th sequel. The stories lines got so far fetched that they got very cheesy & ridiculous. Friday the 13th should of stopped at the Final Chapter. Nightmare 1, 3 & 6 were good, 2, 4 & 5 sucked.
