I think it is a good album. No it hasn't got all the classics, but then Eagle 1 did, so why put the same songs on this album? I love the versions of 'Forever Free' and 'Iron Wheels' on this album, well I like the whole album actually! I think this album is more meaty than Eagle 1, which I thought never really captured the Saxon sound live.
It just doesnt cut it for me. I like the Wheels/Demolition Alley combo and of course Dogs of War..... but thats about it. Dont listien to this one very much

In a way they had to do something different,it was originally (and i may be wrong) only released in Germany,i had to get mine on import,but at the time it was a good mixture of the old and new,if it had ALL the songs on Eagle 1 we would have complained..i like it thou,still play it....just getting used to Eagle 3 now.....
I prefer eagle 1 and the latest eagle 3 much more. Of course the tracks Dogs of War, Forever free, eagle has landed, wheels of steel princes of the night. Great white buffelo, requem, crusader, refugee.. are good. Dissapointing I found the track I cant stop rocking, and demolition alley.. These songs didnt do it for me, apart from the great guitar solo from scarret on on cant stop rocking, where the studioversions where great..
Further the recording sound is not as good as on 1 and 3..don't know what it is..it sounds hollow sometimes, filtered.. just my experience..and finally The choice of the songs , I would have liked to see songs like Empty promises and Freewaymad and Taking your chances on it...but ok saxon has time enough to release volume 4---> volume 18 so much material.. And Valanx I agree its really christmas time album.....Strong Arm of the Law is my autumn record, and wheels of steel is my winter record! Dogs of war and unleash my spring records
