FS: Line 6 HD147

what are you going to use live now?

I've got an ENGL e530 preamp, Randall RM4 preamp, and a Randall RT2/50 power amp to use. Tons of tone options there, I will likely just use the RM4 as my live preamp once I get some preamp modules for it, the ENGL until then, but I'll use both preamp units in the studio.

For effects I'm most likely going to get a used Boss GT-8 to run through the loop for delays, choruses, etc.

Bumping this back up as a friend and potential buyer ended up getting a Floor Pod instead for his direct live br00talz (LAWL!)

$750 with free shipping to the continental USA. Again, it includes FBV Shortboard and official Line 6 cloth head cover (which doubles as a polish cloth for the groovy chrome finish.) I take PayPal and I am a seasoned eBay seller with 100% positive rating, but I thought I'd give you guys another round at this before I push it to eBay.

Great sounding, mint condition head, and it's very useful live b/c it's a LOUD 300 watts, you won't need any pedals or external FX, and it's got direct speaker-simulated XLR outs to send to the house mix. It also sounds better than POD XT (IMO) and is only quasi-compatible with the XT as a result - this unit has its own unique firmware that's not directly related to any other Line 6 product.

I didnt know about the hd147 being different from the xt in terms of the firmware used . Is the vetta 2 also different?
Im planning on buying one of those amps here , but i looking for opinions first.
For metal tones wich one will you consider first ?

Kazrog,

Are you going to look into any Egnater modules for your M4? I'm not sure if they work 100% in the RM4, but it's worth looking into. The EG5 is great for the heavy stuff.

The Vetta 2 uses the XT engine, but allows for 2 amps at once, which PODs didn't allow until the POD X3. The HD147 is geared at metal tones, and I feel it sounds thicker than the other Line 6 products in that regard - but I will say the difference is fairly subtle.

A friend loaned me a ton of Randall modules, so far I really like the George Lynch stuff the best by far, as well as the Dan Donegan module. I was also impressed with the Fender Blackface clone. I haven't tried any Egnater modules but the word seems to be that they are interchangeable. It's a really fun unit because it supports so many tones and is all-tube, but some modules really didn't blow me away (XTC, Treadplate were both very flat and undergained compared to the real amps.)

Back to the HD147 - I'm willing to negotiate on the price - so make an offer if you're interested.

Wrong. All non-Spider Line 6 amps use models developed and designed for the original Vetta. The HD147 is a stripped down version of the Vetta II, with a preset EQ curve on the power section. The reason it isn't really compatible with the XT and Vetta is because it has less features. It is a GREAT amp though, the sound is excellent once you get it dialed in.

Good luck getting anywhere NEAR that price... when I sold mine, I only got $500.

The Blackface-Blackface module or the Blackface-Deluxe module (DLX)? I haven't heard the latter in person yet, but I'm hoping it's in roughly the same audio ballpark as some of the pushed sounds on the Mesa Roadster's clean channels.

My understanding is that Randall MTS units will accept an Egnater v2 "Dual Sound" module, but you lose the ability to access its second channel. Single channel v1 modules should be fine.

Thanks for the info, guys. I will take offers on the price. If I don't get any offers soon, I'll just eBay it. I don't have any crazy price expectations, but the foot controller is essential for live use and really adds to the usable value of this amp IMO.
