Awesome, does it sound sick running vocals threw it?

What are the best things about this unit, in your opinion?

I'd say it's really transparent. It avoids adding color and gives a very clean and clear representation of the sound. There's high pass filters on ever channel, so you can filter out low end rumble in overheads before you even hit the a dat. It also has d sub out connectors so you can go directly to another a/d if you want. I think you can d sub in too, incase you're working with a patch bay.

There's also mid side mode built in, which is a special mixing/micing technique for capturing stereo sound in a certain way (read up on it for more info )

There's impedance switching on the first two channels, which is great for unique microphones or interfacing with ribbon mics. And the unit has two direct input channels on the front, in case you need to hook up a guitar or bass real quick.
