Bought it new, used it exactly 1 time to re-amp the bass parts for my upcoming EP through it, but now I need money for XMAS gifts (and I'll just buy another one once I get a goddamn job :loco: ). The thing is legendary on bass (which is why I bought it in the first place), $65 shipped in the US if you pay with a money order ($70 with paypal), $80 shipped internationally!

How did you manage to break it? The thing feels practically indestructible! (and heavier than one might imagine)

It just started cutting out one day; so I took it apart in order to ascertain what the problem was... but then I remembered I don't know anything about electronics!! It's sitting in an old dufflebag on top of my cupboard, waiting for me to sort it out.

Did you like this over the sansamp Marcus?? i really like more the sansamp for bass, it suit better IMO.

Never tried the Sansamp, but there's a pretty big price difference between the two! ;) (and the Sansamp is meant to have something of a built in cab emulation, whereas this is a straight dist. pedal, so running it into an 8x10 SVT impulse gets it a whole lot closer!)

EDIT: In fact, here's a clip to prove it :D (this is the RAT re-amped track running into Boogex with an SVT impulse, zero eq or compression)

Lovin' that tone! If I had the money I would SO fucking buy this!

Someone should seriously buy this pedal, RAT's sound amazing on bass guitars. If I had money I would be all over this as even with the weak £ at the mo it'd still be cheaper than buying one new here!

I have one of these on my pedal board and don't really like it at all. mine even has one of the more sought after older IC's in it (don't remember the name of it at the moment). I was going to get rid of it, but that sounds pretty awesome on bass! I may have to give that a try.

Yeah dude, I pretty much invariably don't like disto. pedals on guitar (yes, including the HM-2, at least as the main source of tone :loco: ), but bass is a whole different story!

I couldn't agree with you more. I have grown to HATE distortion pedals. all of em. but the weird thing is, sometimes I like how they sound with other people use them. I dunno if it's because of the amp they use it with.?.? a friend of mine gets great tone out of his rat with a LP studio and a Vox AC-30

Well dist. pedals can sound cool if they're used just as boosts (with only a little grit dialed in on the pedal itself), so maybe that's how he has it set up? (with most of the gain/tone coming from the AC30)

yeah that's how he used it. I never take the gain past 9:00 on mine
