Howdy all. I'm looking to sell on my Spector 5-string. It's been with me for years and I'll miss it but I'm moving away from playing the kind of music it's ideally suited for and looking to get myself a good 4 stringer instead.

Location: Nottingham, England
Price: £250
Shipping: Undetermined as I've yet to acquire suitable packaging. Shouldn't be too expensive though, and personal collection would be fine as well. If anyone wants to buy before I can make sure its suitable boxed then I don't mind making a gentlemans agreement and holding off payment until I get sorted at my end.

PM ME IF YOU'RE INTERESTED. CHEERS.

Shipping within the UK only. Sorry, but arranging overseas shipping would be a bitch.

Basswood body with quilted maple top. Maple neck with rosewood fretboard. EMG 40HZ Pickups, EMG active tone circuit with bass, treble, pickup blend and master volume controls. Spector design solid brass bridge with locking saddle pieces.

It's in great condition with virtually no battle scars to show for all the gigs I've played with it. The only real ding is on the headstock and I've included a pic to show it. It's very playable and the neck is only about 3mm wider than a Les Paul neck at the nut, so it's ideal if you've not played a 5 stringer before. It's extended scale at 35" so holds downtuning below B very well.

I've given it a good all-over clean and polish and set it up for optimal action in BEADG tuning.

Sold with a 3rd part hardcase.

Piccies:

Quality bass people, I have this one and it rocks! Ive always been confused by the body material...some places say its bassword and some say its mahogany, I feel the former might be correct.

If some cunt hadn't stolen my bike I would have brought this straight away and picked it up this weekend, but alas, it's not to be :(

Yeah basswood is part of the mahogany family and a lot of manufacturers happily play fast and loose with this. When you see "mahogany" they usually mean "far eastern mahogany" of which several species fit the bill.

I'm interested in this, I was looking at a Yamaha RBX375, but I'm thinking this is a better bass! When you say it's not suited for your style what did you mean?

Ah ok, I was looking for something that could be used with drop C myself, but know nothing about basses. I have a 7 string too though, so the option of a 5th string is always nice
