so i was just reading different articles about gang violence at hardcore shows, and more specificaly about FSU (Friends Standing United). i had never heard of them before, apparently they started in the 80's to rid off nazis from the hardcore scene. and now they have regrouped with no political agenda other than just beat the crap out of people who offend them or disrespect them. Some kid just died over the week end at a show in jersey, and a band in seattle had to cancel their show bcs they were threatened by those so called thugs.
I'm all for hardcore and staying united but i'm not for the kind of shit where 15 dudes jump 1 guy out of no fuckin real reason to.
anyways, what do you guys think about that shit?

Are they like straightedge? Cuz..thats cool if you dont wanna smoke or drink, but its almost borderline radical the way they act to others who dont share their vision.

FSU was (and is) a boston thing i think...and i think they used to get into it with DMS, i think ezec smashed a fire extingusher on one of their heads almost killing one of them.

FSU has some dvd out with all their fights and shit, i forget what it was called...either way im with ya...GAY.

the behavior of cliche hardcore people make me hate hardcore...what happened to shit like warzone, and one life crew?

well apparently fsu is spreading on the east coast but also in other states. i guess its become a trend thing for fake tough fight club faggots.
i've been to hardcore shows, not the old school stuff i was too young, but i did work at the superbowl of hardcore in williamsburg in 04 and there wasnt any bullshit fights, everyone was stickin with each other. During SOIA set they did a wall of death and no one went fighting, instead they picked each other up, which is the way it should no matter which show you go to, but then again some dumb meatheads think its kool to gangbang on people :puke:

ive been to my fair share of hardcore shows, older and newer...and i think its fucked up how if you look at the crowd (and im just as guilty), theyre all staring at "the crowd" (karate kickers/ shadow boxers) INSTEAD OF THE FUCKING BAND who they're there to see! (i watch them because im visually glued to their stupidity)

Your "karate kickers" comment reminded me of something. About 8 years ago I travelled to Boston with a friend of mines band. They were playing at, of all places, The Middle East. During the show, I noticed nobody was really slammin'. They were all standing in circle taking turns jumping in the middle and dancing like a jackass. I made the executive decision that contact was needed so, I jumped in the middle of the circle and started bouncing off of people. Everyone had that look on their faces like they just realized the toilet paper ripped and they had shit on their hand. The bouncers cautiously converged and explained that "slam-dancing" was not allowed. What the fuck is up with that? Someone important get hurt?

I think I remember seeing those fuckers at one show at Toad's Place in New Haven, in 1990, I think. True enough, they confronted a group of skinheads, but the cops were already on the scene in 8 seconds, and sent everyone packing.

Probably, these guys lost their mission, so they're rotting out and acting like total assholes. Kind've like cops in an urban district with a dropping crime rate.

when i saw hardcore shows in the late 90's, like skarhead, blood for blood, madball....there wasnt any of that shit, at least in pittsburgh, that gay "take turns" bullshit is new, at least to me.

This was in Boston so, Maybe TMan357 knows something about it. Upstate NY hasn't seen any of that take-turns horseshit. I mean, how the hell do you take friggin' turns?

I ran into a situation a few years ago at Axis Club in Boston where I went with a friend to see D.R.I., Nasty Savage & Sick Of It All and it was a crazy show..There were skinheads everywhere and we had really long hair. It wasn't a problem till the end of the night on our way out a skinhead smacked my friend in the back of the head (My boy stands about 6' and weighs about 90lbs) not much of a fighter..But he turned around and soon enough about 9 more skinheads were confronting us calling themselves something initials related (I wasn't really listening, I was thinking about who I was going to whack first before getting my beating) Then out of nowhere about 20 more skinheads come up from behind us (I just about shit!!!) and ask what's going on..My boy starts spilling his guts like it's his final confession and they backed us up (And by that I mean saved our asses!!!) and told the other guys to screw...So I'm thanking these guys for standing with us and one kid tells me " No problem, that's what Sharks do" I wasn't about to ask him anything but I guess the look on my face told him I had no clue as to what the hell that meant so than he tells me sharks are....Skin Heads Against Racist Kind. And I guess there gig was to help keep the peace at shows and prevent beatdowns from racist skinheads.......I never forgot the acronym S.H.A.R.K.
as they saved the T-man ALOT of healing:)
