I usually end up completely drunk and stoned for a few weeks till I somehow manage to get a new job, then I suddenly sober up and my body feels like a car hit it for a month.
Well, working for Allflight made my body feel like it was hit by a car..........every day. It's actually a relief to be out of that fucking hell hole. Now, I can meet with the FAA guilt-free!
Actually, Boeing is the ONLY Aerospace company I'd work for. It's a whole new environment as opposed to smaller companies, really.
The trick with Boeing is to get a non-union position. The union positions are the ones you hear about getting laid off all of the time, unless you work at SDC which is the more steady union-based division. I know people there that have been there for decades.
I'm unemployed too. it's 10:30am and I'm about to go mix my first drink of the day (getting a late start).
I wish I lived far enough south to work at Boeing (I'm 20 minutes out of bellingham). I know I could get on with them doing SOMETHING. Maybe they'd pay to relocate me, doubtful.
Anyway, yeah, I'm with ya... unemployed in the northwest - and as a carpenter my work is usually seasonal so I'm S.O.L. for the next three months.
