Hey guys. Here's a band I just got done working with.

I want to show it to you because I REALLY enjoy this band like.. An extra amount. Fucking LOVE the vocals!!!

Not sure if it's done yet, but it's definitely close :)

ewgh, I hate this, sounds like fucking Bring me the horizon.... Mix sounds good though, not really fond of the lack of dynamics, feels the same throughout from beginning till the end, overheads sound a bit weird as well, can't really go into specifics cause i'm not at the studio

This sorta reminds me of Alert The Sky, except the vocals kinda suck. Would sound better with these sorta vox:

but hey, not my band. haha

lol.. vocals are my favorite thing about this band.. its better than generic 'ftfd' vox imo

I think a good rule of thumb is not to try and label a band as a certain genre. You could end up offending the band if they do not want to be labeled as X genre. I kinda just steer clear of that personally.

Great job on the mix Nick and i'm sure the band is stoked as fuck!

Offending a band for telling them they're not in a genre they think they're in? Fuck that.

Thanks everybody!

I just called it hardcore, because I just call anything with screaming hardcore, becasue I feel like it haha. I'm sure there's some other 'genre' that could be tagged on the band, but to the average music listener, I feel that hardcore is acceptable.

Anyways,

Gtr---->Some sort of nice schecter (drop Bb)---->maxon808--->5150---->mesa Trad----> i5 pointed pretty much an inch off of where the cone meets the paper, on axis----->sm7b pointed 45 degrees in towards the cone, in phase with mic 1

Drums are all sampled from the drummers kit, kick is replaced, snare is 99% real (I tidied up a few gimpy hits)!

Let me know if you want me to go into detail about the processing and shit
