Hi everyone, i just wanted to share my bands third album.
I think that musically speaking we have some pretty interesting stuff.
We are not inventing anything new that is for sure, but THIS IS NOT the typical modern metal band. Every song is different an even inside the songs there are a lot of surprises.
Since i am an orchestral conductor and composer the concept of the album is "classical". This means that there are motif and themes that span through the entire album transforming and developing themselves. Same happens with lyrics which are meta physic in nature and describe the universe as a dream from which we must wake up. We are from Argentina and hence lyrics are in Spanish.
I did the recording, producing, mixing,etc... this is in fact a bedroom album, no fancy gear, just a lot love and the belief that the music is worth it.

Of course to appreciate the things i describe, one must listen to the whole album, or at least entire songs, `couse if you go from song to song to see what it is about in a hurry you probably are gonna say "meh.."
It is an epic journey that ends of course in the "grand finale"

Thank you a lot for everything. This record wouldn't exist if it weren't for this forum (so if you don't like it, you are to blame! hahaha joke of course)

This is the full album

And here you have one of the song, that really doest represent what the whole album is about:

Heard you guys sometimes because of the connection with another Metal band here. I'm from Argentina as well, didn't know that you guys were making the whole stuff in a bedroom, nice to know that i'm not the only one!! Hahaha
Saludos!

Just had a quick listen; I have to say this sounds pretty damn cool! The Spanish vocals definitely give it a cool and different flavor. Also, nice guitar tone! Can you share what the guitars were (i.e. the recording chain)? Overall I think the mix is quite dry/tight, which I dig, and definitely impressive for a "bedroom album"!

Yeah the record is pretty dry, im not sure if i like that vibe now, but since everything was recorded in a very veeery small room we didnt have lot of natural ambience to play with.
Guitars are PRS 513 into kemper (the only "fancy" gear we had available) into focusrite interface via spdif. Nothing more to it. I think i used a rivera profile.
I didnt have to much time to experiment with it thought becouse at the time of mixing(reamping) i just had it for a couple of days. Now i have better profiles and a better understanding of how to get the most out of the good ol`kemp.
Glad you like it. If you have the chance to listen to the whole album i would very much aprecieate any insight on the music.
Cheers!

Cool, the Kemper sounds really good, thanks for the info! Yeah I can see how you could say it's maybe too dry... but it's got something to it that I think fits the music here.

Love how the drums sound on this. Especially the snare and kick. Can you give a little more info on that ?

Kit was a mapex (not sure of the model now) recorded in a tiny room with cad mics and a 57 on snare and a pair of at2020 as OHs.
Kick is 100%replaced with a combination of slate 4 and lsd kicks and tons of processing. Snare si 80%sample, but in this case i cant remember, there where at least 6 snares blended wich i realise now is to much.

Nothing to do with the post, but here is a bass playthrough of one of the songs (im the bass player)
