This is true, unless they investigate your computer and see that you intended to go to the site, based on your history and cookies. If someone didn't keep any cookies or history, then the pop up defense would probably work.

Except for the history that may be serverside. I don't know enough about what information servers keep about IPs that access them, but I assume it's enough to shoot the popup defense down. Besides, what site has a popup like that?
