Speaking of which I saw a FB post from him today wishing his good friend Slash a happy birthday and thanking him for all the years of friendship. I wonder if Slash is going to be the next inline for a Dave-spray!

Now I don't mind some Venom, especially their older stuff. But seeing pics like this does make me wonder why Manowar copped some much crap for being gay or whatever other insults their lack of attire and leather straps afford them. I'm not entirely sure but I wouldn't mind betting this was even before Manowar started.

The 80s are a gold mine for photos that did not age well.

Overkill have some classic old shots.
I agree that the 80's was a time for bad photos. It's amazing metal even took off with some of the shots these bands produced. It's also amazing the wide variety in the shots, from the truly weird Overkill ones to the tight jeans, no shirt shorts of bands like Metallica and Megadeth to the over the top extreme leather shorts and oiled bodies of Venom and Manowar etc. How the hell did we ever think these people were the ones too look up too? At least Doro looked like a hot babe in her leather

Well I think sometimes people forget how ridiculous the rest of the entertainment world also looked. From Flock of seagulls to MC hammer to..name an actor. It was all bad. The 70's were even worse in my opinion.

Yeah that's a point there was some shocking pictures and outfits all through music. That probably just shows that no matter what music you like we all fall for gimmicks somewhere
