Funny things about Christians lol

Also black Comedians who talk about societal issues they have regarding their skin colour etc.

I saw a show Martin Lawrence did and more generic crap is hard to find.
All the time he´s like "i´m black i´m black i´m black" and the black audience keep tapping eachothers shoulders. For a guy who´s against racism he sure doesn´t like white people. In fact he´s a racist.

Well, I find most stand-up comedians aren't really funny for a number of reasons, and usually the crowd awards them, like a 'sympathetic' laughter of "oh he's trying, let's give him a laugh". I have a sense of humour but I'll laugh if I find to be funny, and I'm not the kind of person who'll will force a brief laugh with every attempt at a joke - people who do this really annoy me.

I understand where you are coming from and believe that way too many people laugh out loud as it is. However, there is a significant difference between being in the audience of a comedy show and watching standup alone in your home. An audience always adds something to any performance and being a part of that audience will only enhance it.

Yeah, I am rarely interested in watching any standup comedy on TV, but my wife and I have gone out to a local comedy club and had a pretty good time. The audience does add something to the experience.

I only watch comedy if the guy is famous enough that I become aware of him without turning on a television.
With the exception of Dane Cook, who I have become aware of but refuse to watch.

Dane Cook is funny. He's not thought-provoking or anything, but his delivery is good, and he is actually pretty clever when it comes to playing around with language. The older material is much better than the newer stuff.

I generally like Carlos Mencia. I think he gets flak for saying shit that any black comedian would get away with.

+10 exactly...

OMG u guys have to take everything so serious and analyze every little bit of it till you lose the point... that it's comedy!!! regardless of what subject matter the comedian undertakes... countless times i see you guys make threads attacking christianity or making stereotypes about it but if a comedian does it then they are lame... and also i notice you guys tend to be prejudicial towards female comedians... I would suspect if a male comedian had done the same routine Margaret did your posts would be different...

It's all about timing & delivery, and hers sucks. I'm not going to laugh at it because it's supposed to be funny, that would be ridiculous.

I think people are usually biased towards female comedians because they suck. Most standup comedians suck in general, but female ones seem to take it to a new level. Really the only female comedian I like is Tina Fey.

Sorry I laughed at it because it is funny and not because it's supposed to be funny... Stereotyping has been done alot about christians but Margaret did not take anyone else's material... she did it her own way... anyways if you want to see a example of your statement you only have to read most threads in GMD where people make "jokes" or "stereotype" whatever subject the thread is about and think it's funny and the others laugh because it's "supposed" to be funny.... :Smug:
