I'd have to say that G.L.E.D. is my favorite off Red, White & Screwed. I used to be a big K.D. fan in the late 80's & into the 90's. When I heard G.L.E.D., I was laughing my ass off.

I'm probably gonna sound like a moron when I ask this, but I'll ask anyways. Did King Diamond lie about something, or is the point of the song is that he's a dumbass devil worshiper?

And while I'm asking, who is Hardcore Harry about? That was another good song off the record. Maybe Harry should have drove a cadillac instead of a volkswagen rabbit.

Nobody's giving answers about G.L.E.T., but as a fan of the King, it is definitely one of my top picks on this album!

Billy's GOT to do a video for this song. He's got no choice. It'd be too good to have him doin' the King's shtick on camera.

But be careful of litigation! Billy wouldn't want to be sued for copycatting the King's look... or worse, sued by Gene Simmons for "receiving stolen shtick" from a known make-up stealer!

But its true: Billy's GOT to do a video for G.L.E.T.!!

I would love to see Billy with some sort of K.D. makeup and do his spoof of K.D. on video, that would be hilarious.

Everytime Billy makes fun of a band, he hits it right on the head. De men of Stein, Get Ready, and G.L.E.D. are my favorite parodies that Billy has done.

hahaha Fucking Funny Shit There!! I was laughing my ass off to that one.Fucking HEE Larrious.. I'm a big King Diamond fan too, that shit fucking rules Billy! A+ material :headbang::headbang:

favorite part..."It's just a dream"

"No I'm under your fucking bed Bitch" hahahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahahhahahhahahha

My favourite part:

"AAAHH! SAYYTAN! ...GRANDMAAAA!"

I almost lost control of my car laughing when I heard that!!!!

Followed by your pick:

"Take a deep breathhhhh..., you're safe... PSYCHE!!! AHAHAHAHAHA!"

Yep. Classic from day one!

Got the new record since yesterday! Best record I've heard in years. It's so awesome I'm listening to it constantly!!!!
Fuckin' A!!!!!!!
BTW, I bought the disc at Tower Records here in Tokyo. It was the only/last copy. And they've charged me 25$. That's a rip-off. But I haven't seen it anywhere else here and still had some christmas-money. So I said to myself: Fuck it!. And for sure it's worth the bucks!
Oh, and it's not a japanese version. So no bonus track!

I still chuckle everytime I think about KD. I saw him on the Abigail tour @the Penny Arcade. Standing on the stage, he was barely taller than those of us in the audience. It was like staring at Satan's midget. Come to think of it. Danzig is a midget too. What is it with short people and satan?

Its a power thing. Hitler, Stalin, Mao. All around 5 ft. 1! Anton Lavey was also a part-time munchkin. Begging Satan for goodies naturally goes along with the quest for power and manipulation that burns inside people with height challenges.

Funny. Never recall actually seeing a photo of da King standing next to someone else... Now I know why! :loco:

I seen Mercyful Fate in 93' at the Penny Arcade, and shook King's hand, yes he's a short guy. I met Glenn Danzig 3 times, he's around 5'5"-5'6". Dio is 5 ft 4in. Another short guy is Mike Muir, I'd say he's around Danzig's height. All these short guys should get together and create their own group of Dwarfs. "Killer Dwarfs" is already taken, so they would have to create another name for their band.

GREAT song!
i dont think it's so much about King Diamond as it is about James Hetfield, though.
afterall, near the beginning of the tune, it says, 'This is the story of James Hetfield and how he saved the day...' or something like that. you can also pick up the hint of 'Unforgiven' in there.
i'd love to know what Billy was getting at, but regardless, it's a hilarious tune. i love it.:worship:

I agree with Sue - in my opinion, it's about Hetfield and not about King - the "Grandma" is probably a sort of funny reminiscence.

Until Billy comes clean with us (which probably won't be till well after the tour), we won't know the true story behind G.L.E.T.

Till then, I figure he's killing two thrashers by casting one stone!

I would have to say that he's making fun of both Hetfield & King. Why else would Billy be sounding exactly like King (both voice & music)? Also with "SATAN...GRANDMA!!".

I know Metallica & Mercyful Fate both were in the same studio when they were recording "Kill Em' All" and "Melissa" back in 83', and Lars played drums for M.F. back in 93' on "Return of the Vampire", so I'm wondering what exactly happened to cause "The Greatest Lie Ever Told"? :loco:
