Gamma Ray

Holy mother of god that was easily one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. Let's see...

Another member here, Redfox, was with Laura and I at the concert, and we all had a blast. After the show, since the VIP meet and greet was pushed to post-show, we were standing in line in the record store, and I pointed out a vinyl copy of Helloween's Walls of Jericho - I told him to grab it, and he had Kai personally sign it! That's one of the most chance things I've seen happen, it was awesome. Kai himself was an absolutely stellar dude... incredibly friendly, we talked to him for a while and got pictures with them (Redfox has them, I need to get them from him).

And the concert itself was spectacular! Kai's voice was spot on, the covers of Ride the Sky and I Want Out were amazing, and the whole band seemed to be having the time of their life despite the small crowd. And I got a pick from both Kai and Henjo :D

Unfortunately due to the massive blizzard that attacked the US, their merchandise wasn't able to make it, so I couldn't get a shirt or anything - and their webshop isn't even up!

But yea, absolutely phenomenal concert. So worth getting home at 4 AM.

My whole body is sore. They really put on an intense show. Oh and I never knew Kai could jam. XD

Too awesome.

You have to send me those pics of us at the meet-and-greet ASAP. Thanks again for the ride back to the garage, dude!

Post-concert VIP shenanigans, I'll let Redfox show his glorious signed Walls of Jericho:

I would also like to stress just how similar Henjo and Lips from Anvil look:

That surprises me given the incredible number of concerts you've been to, Andy!

edit: It was a really good concert, I could have done with less songs from To The Metal though - though the songs are much better live, I would have really enjoyed something from Land of the Free 2, like Into the Storm, Rain, or Real World.

Gamma Ray....I really like the "No World Order" "Powerplant" and "Majestic" albums......but I think "Somewhere out in Space" may be my favourite. "To the Metal" wasn't bad either!

holy shit! those are my exact favorite gamma ray albums too.

does anyone know if gamma ray have ever toured the uk before, or should i start saving my airmiles for a trip to germany?
