Thinking about grabbing one of those cheap RG7321s to inspire some new riffing but am expecting the stock pickups to be horrendous... I know a lot of people seem to hate on the 707 so what are people liking these days? Would be awesome if I could get something that will fit the standard pickup route without having to dremel it up for the EMGs but I am an EMG diehard in my 6 strings...

What about the SD Blackouts?

I've never tried them, but from the clips posted on here I'm not overly impressed.

If I want an active pickup it's because I want the EMG sound. If I want a passive sound I'll go for a DiMarzio or passive SD.

I kind of get the feeling the Blackout's might be jack of all trades, master of none.

Lundgren M7 is the best I've had. It's quite expensive though.

I used to have a Sc607B with 81-7's and definately wasn't a fan of them. If you seriously want actives, I'd take the passive sized Blackouts just because you don't need to do any routing with them.

Personally, I'd probably go with the Dimarzio D-sonic 7, it's pretty nice, especially in basswood.

Ive got 707's now, if I had two choices id have the 707's and I really want to try some Lundgren M7's!!

Are the Lundgren's passive?
