General tips for mixing ultra low guitar tunings

Is here anybody who is doing stuff like Meshuggah, where guitars are extreme low tuned and mixed with bass? Could you please share some general rules and tips for recording/mixing this type of stuff? Seems to be very hard to mix bass and this type of guitars together...

Distort the bass, so it cuts through better (due to the added higher harmonics).. Try high pass filtering the bass,.. High pass filtering the guitars..

It's really not that different from normal mixing, but you've gotta be aware that the guitars start to eat into frequencies normally mean for bass and kick. So, having a higher tuned kick and distorted bass for example will make them stand out.

Not entirely sure, but on this very forum it was suggested a while back.

I've tried it on a few things, and never really found it THAT useful, but it's definitely something which was mentioned and used by people here!
