I was wondering if any of you have any experience or comments on this head? I'm talking about the 100w version. The reason I might be interrested in it is because of the voltage selector switch on the back. That would save me the trouble of buying a 230 to 110 voltage adapter.

Dude, I played one of these a looooong time ago when they first came out. I liked it. It's like a Laney VH100R kinda. Very Opeth sounding. Trying to do anything heavy on it, it sounded all 80's, lol, but stuff like Opeth sounded really good. Very clear on chords, lead tone was great. See, you damn Eueopeans and your voltage crap! Doesn't the 5150 have the voltage selector too? Or maybe not..I don't remember and I'm not walking across the studio to check :p. My friend that was there with me at the time almost bought it, but instead got a Rocktron Chameleon (yuck!)...never asked him why...but then again, he's got a horrible ear for good tone, so whateva.

hmmm... I really like Opeth alot, but I mostly play extreme stuff like Zyklon and stuff like that.. I guess i'm just gonna have to buy a powerful adapter and go for the 6505+ head.

It's pretty hard to decide when I dont get the chance to try the amps first;)

I think its more suited to hard rock, but, whatever floats your boat. A guy I know has one... I tried to tweak it for about 30 mins and couldnt really dial in anything that I dug that much.

I wanted to check one out after I heard people on harmony central running them down. Naturally, I liked it.

Needs a boost for the heavy stuff, though
