I find that that is true for pants. However, my bare chest has too many reflections, so I have to wear a shirt in order to preserve the stereo field. However the average cloth band tshirt wasn't cutting it so I cut up some Auralex foam into a suit of armor. The tone is unbelievable.

informally dressed you absorb about 5 Sabins @ 1k and 2.5 @ 250Hz....if you're wearing a suit it'll only be like 4.5 @1k but quite a bit more at 250Hz (3.5 Sabins).
