So, had a pretty intense gig last week in which my frontman's amp broke down halfway through our set. He's got a bit of a reputation for breaking leads/accidentally unplugging his pedals during songs so I didn't think much of it at the time. However, I decided to test it the next day and could not get a sound out of it at all. All fuses were ok, valves lit up etc. but no sound.

Apparently, there was a slight smell of burning at the time of breakdown. Could this mean a blown OT? :(

Im a bit worried about this as we've got a lot of outgoings as a band at the moment, due to the imminent release of our album, and might not have the time/money to get it fixed.

Any ideas?

Did you check internal fuses or just the main? Can you get any sound running out through the effects loop? If so its in the preamp stage.

Without cracking it open its hard to tell. Could be a cap or a tube. If you're not comfortable with it definitely take it to a shop.
