[The Crypt Violator]

I don't know if any of you have heard of them, though they are getting more and more popular in the metal underground.
For those not initiated, they're a satanic heavy/doom metal band who are all anonymous musicians and wear hooded cloaks and make-up on stage (though live performances are rare). I'd like to know what you think of them.

Of course!
Their 2010 debut was EASILY one of the best records released that year. Awesome stuff.....I've heard them described as a mix of Blue Oyster Cult, Uriah Heep, "Nuns Have No Fun" era Mercyful Fate, and any of the new, awesome "retro" bands such as Graveyard, Witchcraft, Serpentcult, etc.

Excellent record, highly recommended!

I agree with the praise here. Opus Eponymous is a great album, and their live shows have a truly mystical atmosphere. Also, I approve of their lyrics.

Vocals are the weak link imo; no power .

Just checking some out now, I had never heard of them. Having now heard 2 songs, not bad. Nice NWOBHM sounding affair thus far. "Ritual" kinda reminds of Dark Star or Holocaust or something.

I don't think they're really about growling or screaming your head off, somehow. I think the "softer" vocals add another dimension to it.
