So I have to work on Friday but I have Sat. off to go up to Milwaukee for the show. Ill be up there early with Ashley if anyone wants to meet up for a drink or too before the Symphony plays their 5 songs. Send me a private message if you are going.

Dress light if it stays as hot as it has been. The last time I was there in the summer there was ZERO ventilation, and eveyone left swimming in their own stew!

Hey Matt, I won't be making that gig due to personal issues at home. I gave my ticket to Alicia. So she and Deb should be there.

Hope you all have a great time, it's killing me not to be there, but I want you all to celebrate for me being that it's my b'day weekend!

I'll be there. Gonna see you there, J-Dub?

No chance. You'll never see me at the Rave/Eagles in August unless I know
they've fixed their ventilation issue. It sounds like it shouldn't be too hot outside, but that place is like a blast furnace in the summer.
I'd really only want to see SY-X anyway, maybe DT........

I plan on going to this tomorrow as well. If anyone is not familiar with The Rave/Eagles, If you get on their mailing list they send you some goodies every once in a while. These goodies happen to be vouchers to get in for free with the purchase of two drinks. Granted, those two drinks happen to cost you about $14, but that means you get to see the show for $14 + 2 drinks. Sounds good to me!

So if you go there, make sure you get on the mailing list for future shows. The cost sure beats the Chicago prices (for those who care about ticket prices, that is.)

That still doesn't make sense to drive from Chicago to Milwaukee to see a show Walter!!! Plus the show in Chicago is OUTSIDE!!! Quit whining and bitchin' about ticket prices please, they are not that bad, its just you. If I see you at ProgPower I'm gonna give you a wedgie!

If you live in the Northern suburbs like Wheeling, Palatine, Arlington Heights, etc., then you are going about 15-20 miles more each way for the drive. Yeah, that is more. It's also straight HIGHWAY miles, so that is a little faster. Also, getting into Chicago instead of Milwaukee (if you've done it) is a WEE BIT more time consuming. The Chicago-area traffic is murder for those not familiar.

Plus the show in Chicago is OUTSIDE!!!

Outdoor shows suck my balls after 9 hours of work. Plus the acoustics outdoors (especially Tweeter) are beyond garbage. Most Metal fans prefer to hear concerts confined to a buliding.

Quit whining and bitchin' about ticket prices please, they are not that bad, its just you.

I guess when you live alone and work 7 days a week, month in, month out, then you'll maybe have a better sense of perspective of what trying to live by a budget means. Until then, your opinion of MY opinion of money really doesn't have too much merit.

If I see you at ProgPower I'm gonna give you a wedgie!

 I'm quite sure you'll see me and I'll be happilly waiting to see it happen.

Hey wait a minute...you keep asking me when I'm coming down to Chicago for a show - isn't that the same thing (but in reverse)? ;)
Besides, coming to Milwaukee for a show means hanging out with me - that should count for *something* lol

And J-Dub, if you'd take off that jean jacket when it's 90 out, you might not be so warm... I've been to the Rave in the summer and it's never been as bad as you make it out to be. Don't be a weenie and use that as an excuse to not come hang out now and again!

Alicia

LOL, hey Walter don't try to make your life seem like it's so bad OK? There are people in this world that go through a hell of a lot worse than you are going through on a daily basis. No I do not live alone nor do I work seven days a week. What I go through on a daily basis though would scare the shit out of most people but you will NEVER hear me complain. It's my life and I have to contend with it as best I can. I'll say this only once, if you want to see what its like to live a life filled with pain, discomfort that will give you a positive reinforcement on living day to day and put your AWESOME life in perspective please feel free to let me know!

oh and living by a budget? I have been out of work since April and still have money. Seems I can budget money fine thank you very much.

Hah! Well, it looks like it should be a good night for the show, but if you were at the 1st Maiden reunion show you'd be singing a different tune! :yuk:
Hope y'all had a good time! Jax said Sy-X kicked ass in Chicago (Tinley Park) last night...

It was definitely a good afternoon/night for the show - they had the windows open and a wonderful breeze was blowing through the building. I think it might have been rather awful otherwise. lol.
We had a great time - Symphony X did indeed kick ass. The crowd was really getting into them too, which rocked. I'm probably one of the odd ones...the best band of the day for me was Fear Factory. The rest afterwards was somewhat anticlimactic. Maybe I was just worn out, I dunno. But it was a good time nonetheless! Saw a few familiar faces too. You shoulda been there!

I went to Gigantour at the Dallas and Corpus Christi dates, it was amazing. And by amazing I only meant Dream Theater, Symphony X, and Megadeth. Not a fan of the other bands out there. But I'll tell you what, Symphony X was amazing at the Corpus show. They stayed at the same hotel as me in Dallas so I got to hang out with 'em for a little bit. Dream Theater did a Dimebag tribute in Dallas, they covered Cemetary Gates and Russel Allen ran out on stage and helped sing. And Mustaine and Petrucci harmonized the solo together.

Rather awful in what respect? Personal hygiene? Heat? Both? :yuk:
I'm saving my energy for Prog Power, but I'm glad the event went off well,
and that you had a good time.

Oh, yeah! Don't forget to wish Babs a happy 80th birthday!

A little touchy today, hmm Q?

Some people like to cut corners on money due to their current financial situations, while others ALWAYS have a economic parachute to get them through any crisis. That's basically the way I see things in my adult life.

That said, SymX, Fear Factory, and Nevermore were worth the (paltry) Milwaukee admission price. Nevermore tore ass in 48 minutes and scared all the geeks outta the crowd. Awesome.

I'll tell you this Dub. I was really bummed by not being able to get out to Milwaukee for this show. Deb told me that she and Alicia did a toast for my birthday (which made me even more sadder - ok, I'll be honest, I wept!). I spent the weekend resentful, angry and bitter - then it dawned on me that I was acting like YOU! Then I thought about you Dub and realized that I'll always be younger than you, no matter how many birthdays I have.

Then life didn't seem so bad!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to see you at PP you major Crabass!!!
