gimme gimme negura bunget

Negura Bunget 2007 European Tour dates:

Time has come again for another Negura Bunget European Tour. We are keen to reach parts where we haven't played before, return to some places we enjoyed a lot and especially reach the places we were unable to make to in the past.

We made some progresses from the previous newsflash, but we still have a few open dates. We are especially interested to arrange some date in the UK.

If you feel you can help us arrange a date, please feel free to contact us:

Feel also free to spread this message. We appreciate any kind of support!

So, I just downloaded 'N Crugu Bradului to see whether I should buy it when I get paid next week. The second track has only just started and I'm already sold. This is fucking amazing stuff, and I'm ashamed of myself for not having checked them out previously.

So, that's three albums I've decided on buying next week - two more to go (I've settled on buying five albums a month now I'm earning a bit more cash).

Negura music is really pretty avant-garde stuff, and certainly not too easy to get into. It's good that you were sold on 'N Crugu so quickly, but honestly, it's an album that takes aaages to fully appreciate. You do need to own it, but I'll tell you that you'll like it more in six months than you will in six days.

You might want to sample Sala Molksa as well. It's their most 'pagan' sounding. Hard to describe but you'll understand when you hear it.

Leave the new one 'till last. EDIT: And not because it's bad -- it's great -- but it makes sense to track this band through their discography since each release is a new chapter.

Since I for once happen to be in Germany were most interesting concerts seem to take place, I'd be very sad indeed if they didn't do any shows in the southern parts where I'm currently living :(

Weirdly enough, a lot of music that should theoretically takes ages to get into seems to grab me more immediately on first listen than stuff that's a lot more simplistic and in-your-face - it's as if there's a part of me that goes "This is going to be rewarding in time, get it now!"

So, would you say that this would be a wise first purchase for this band?

I might get this instead of 'N Crugu Bradului...

Yes, get the trilogy boxset. I don't have it because I have all those releases in their original print, but if I didn't, I would certainly hunt down that boxset.

I would also advise getting 'N Crugu Baradului, but get to it after spending time with Sala Molksa. This will allow you to (a) appreciate 'N Crugu more, and (b) spend the time hunting down the digibook version which is a must have in any collection.

If at all possible, do not settle for the jewel pack version of 'N Crugu Baradului. It's worth spending the time (probably on eBay) looking for the book version that comes with a leaf. (Although the leaves by now are dry and falling apart, unless someone kept theirs in a fridge or something).

did any of you Euro skirts catch the band? ... need some damn reviews of the shows...

find me reviews on the web dammit

plastic bag ftw... although it isn't really a leaf. it's a fir twig- are there different versions or something?

at a quick glance it looks like a guitar / bass double head ... for the bands that just lost a member
