ok, you are all going to kill me for overeacting again ... but I just listened to the first 2 tracks and already ...

'n crugu WHO?

my lord, track 2 alone has more things going on than certain bands entire careers.

they took the best of 'n crugu and just upped the ante tenfold.

the production is the best ever ... Negru's kick drum has to be heard.

and this is from a quick listen on a bright sunny morning driving to the office ... I can't imagine what this will do on a proper listen.

and I must say that I was VERY skeptical of what they would do with this release.

this is world class, world domination type of material.

N'Crugu is perfect as it is, especially the production. My scepticism exploded to 2000% no j/k .I just think Inarborat Kosmos is kinda meh (yeah after a year I changed my mind) . Will blind buy regardless :kickass:

agreed with all points above ... totally.

but just wait ... :loco:

This is the real OM cover. The photo is real (grass under snow) and has been taken by negru himself.

Great cover o_O

..anyway, i will hunt and kill the guy who told me that the total running time of the album is 72 min. , It's 66 min :headbang: ... still very long...so sorry for missleading you:rolleyes:

http://www.metalhead.ro/negura.html .. here are some details

this is pothead stuff...i can only imagine OM sounding better when incredibly stoned....there's a slight In the Woods thing going on

very ambient, very atmospheric (but not in a maistru sfetnic manner)

hahahah ... ok, maybe in some ways.

BUT

you need to listen to the songs in order ... very very conceptual ... and oddly enough its the type of stuff that I normally don't dig ... but some of the tracks are great for even cruising ... #2 and #8 come to mind.

of course I am going to lick their ass ... did you expect anything less? :loco:

but this one is goign to hit you like Maiden did ... I can almost guarantee it.

ALSO ... here is the official lurch translation of the track names ... very coloquial Romanian, some words seldom used in today's language ... keep them in mind as you listen ... the titles alone can give you an idea of the concept

01. Ceasuri Rele Bad Times
02. Tesarul De Lumini Treasure of Lights
03. Primul Om First Man
04. Cunoasterea Tacuta Silent Knowledge
05. Inarborat Rooted (not sure?!)
06. Dedesuptul Under
07. Norilor To the Skies
08. De Piatra Of Stone
09. Cel Din Urma Vis The Last Dream
10. Hora Soarelui Sun Dance (Hora being a typical Romanian folk dance)
11. Al Doilea/Om The Second / Man

Track 6 has Celtic Frost, Into the Pandemonium era elements ... just chugs, growls and is "out there" :kickass:

you are totally on the money Moose ... and this is where my guess is from.
I even asked someone that is in Romania now, and they cannot give me a proper translation ...

Well, it's pretty factual that being stoned enhances ANY listening experience, but in the case of the new Negura, I can only imagine that it works wonders.

anyways...

@lurch - don't get me wrong, I dig the new NB. I'm just saying they've gone off on a tangent somewhat.

HEAVY use of synths throughout, and several slowed down moments and interludes. Track 7 could have been written by Ennio Morricone -- total movie soundtrack stuff.

The ambience runs rampant throughout, the clean vocals are a treat, the folky influence is all there...

....good stuff, but DEEP as hell. Nobody can pass judgement on this until several weeks/months worth of listening. There is nothing immediate about it.

would it be a bad guess to think this has something to do with trees, considering the romance language root "arbor"?

or am I just on crack again?

Hm, I asked my teacher at uni or a translation (who happened to speak romanian among many other languages) back when Inarborat Kosmos was released, and the title apparently means "cosmos as a tree". So perhaps Inarborat means "treeness" in general? :)

I'll tell you this. N' Crugu is already a haunting and etheral album in a sober mindset, under the influence it sounds like nothing short of an epic spiritual voyage to me. I absolutely love the new track and the direction they are taking now.

all i keep picturing when hearing the word is a tree with its roots coming out of the ground ... and even wrapped around its base ...

not sure ... but to me Inarborat Kosmos ... means Rooted in the Cosmos (universe)

you are correct..it's simbolic (hermeneutic teritory)..very philosophical actually .. i think the title track 'Tesarul de lumini' though it's ambivalent simbolism, really gives the best possible view upon the will of the univers, or it's simpton which manifest in all.. i think the negura dudes are into fotonic these days :loco: (fotonic is a relatively new 'science' having it's base in hermeneutic, semiotics and many others..our romanian proffesor Stanciulescu is one of the best in the field)
--- listening to the album my mind brakes away from this Maya dimmension, and slowly my twin is rising and swallowed into by the great nothing..for a better understanding of the Great Arhitect of the Univers.:loco: :loco: :loco:
