My PS2 along with Gran Turismo 3 and Xenosaga are on the way.

I like driving games, RPGs, sidescrolling shooters, and retro shit. Any advice?

Been out of the gaming community for some years, other than Morrowind and Unreal 2004 for the PC (both fluke / experimental purchases) so all my games are 7 to 17 years old. Oh yeah and some modern golf game. Every headbanger needs one good golf sim.

I'm clueless. Help me.

I don't too many types of games. I stick mostly with my first-person shooters, or third-person shooters.

Right now, I'm loving Bounty Hunter. It a Star Wars game where you play Boba Fett. Lots of fun.

And you must own GTA: Vice City. Or just wait until the next GTA game is released in October.

NAD - I have a bunch of old PS2 games just laying about collecting dust. I'll give you a list and you can just pick and choose what to borrow. Most of my games are action/strategy though - stuff like Silent Hill 2, Medal of Honor, etc. I'll pack in a bunch of Japanese horror movie freaky shit too.

The only console I need is my Gamecube anyway, if indeed the next bunch of Resident Evils are going to be licensed by Nintendo only.

TITS. Silent Hill always intrigued me.

I've noticed that the shooter genre almost exclusively means First Person Shooter nowadays. That is balls. I like FPS games alright, but nothing beats a side scrolling space ship with 3420-598302-48 powerups blowing up oversize aliens. I found a few, but they are drowning in a sea of FPS. At least Gradius V is coming out later this year.

I just saw that Star Wars: Battlefronts is coming out in September. That looks freakin' motherfuckin' awesome!!!!!!!!

well if you like Star Wars and RPG's then Knight's of the Old Republic is a must have.

I've been told that Star Wars RPG is amazing, one buddy of mine says "dude I get home from work and I play Star Wars until midnight. EVERY NIGHT."

I've never played a Star Wars video game that wasn't utter shite, I stopped trusting them long ago. Except that one green X-wing game in the arcade, I think Atari made it. That shit ruled.

Bounty Hunter for PS2 is a quality SW game. Phantom Menace for PS was alright.

But I don't understand why they always make those stupid flight simulator SW games. It's all about the LIGHT SABER people!

check out pics from Battlefront at www.ebgames.com

It is really good, you need to check it out. Rent it to see if you like it, which i'm sure you will

I have The Phantom Menace for PS1, it wasn't a bad game.

Summoner is one of my favorite RPGs and although a lot of people thought it was lame, I'd recommend it anyway. :loco: I don't know how much of a football fan you are but I'd also have to get Madden 2005 in August or whatever. Gran Turismo 3 is good, but you've already got that coming.

I'm also a huge fan of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series and the latest one, IX , was just released. It's a strategy game where your goal is to be a warlord and conquer China. Then again, that period of history intrigues me and if you don't know what's going on, you might think its gay. :loco:

nad,

being one of the video game specialists on staff, any questions, ask away man...

I have over like 100 something ps2 games, and would be willing to part with some....

evil c.

I could name 20-30 PS2 games for you to check out at the drop of a hat, but for now I'll name the most recent one to become a temporary obsession: Onimusha 3. I don't know if I'm in the minority on this or not, but video game sequels often work to the opposite of the law of lowered expectations for movie sequels...

Isn't that part of the Dynasty Warriors series? I forgot - Dynasty Warriors 4 is a good grab!

Dynasty Warriors is a separate series, but it focuses on the same historical period. I also recommend Dynasty Warriors 4 for some good hack and slash fun.

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms series is a strategy game that focuses on building up a city economically and militarily, bringing in talented officers, using diplomacy to gain an advantage and making war with the warlords around you to increase your territory. Your ultimate goal is to rule all of China by defeating all enemy rulers and if you want to, foreign tribes.

I moderate at www.the-scholars.com which is a forum that specializes in that period of history and things related to it. Also check out www.kongming.net as well if you want some information on either of these series of games. Both are highly recommended.
