I was reading in Ryans latest mix for his track 'lets bounce' in the other section, about how he does the glitching at the intros to that song and a few of his others but i didn't really get a detailed idea of what he meant. Could anybody else explain? Something about bypassing some vst parameters? and also how would you arrange it in the sequencer...with automation?:kickass:

sorry i'm being a complete noob here...but what do you mean by automate the bypass? the bypass of what?
thanks!

What DAW are you using?
It sounds like he just automated the volume of the guitar track or something, made it cut in and out. Towards the end of the intro, it just cuts in & out a lot quicker.
That's my guess.

well i flip between logic and reaper..lets just say repear... really? cause it sounds like hes got some sort of high pitched thing going on there too...

im pretty sure he used the glitch vst plugin and automates the sequencer in that...

at least, that's the easiest way to do it.

I downloaded the Glitch VST when I saw that thread too. The "Retrigger" option seems to work pretty well. But I imagine his method of automating the muting function is probably simpler to do.

Can anyone explain this in n00b terms? I think we need Ryan himself in here haha

throw the vst on your main output and automate the mix control, pretty easy..
and mess around with the automation of the actual controls for the effects it gives some crazy results!
