Global Metal

Welcome To Kanata Eh!
Yeh another documentary to come from the geniouses who created 'Metal: A Headbangers Journey'... Much more pollitical this time around, and since many of the symphony x forum frequenters come from all over the world, might find this interesting.

I thought M:AHJ was brilliant. Of course it's not a full view of metal, but seriously, anyone who bitches about what they left out and such can fuck off. this isn't a 38 hour series on the history channel, it's a dude who has some scratch and the ability to make a good documentary.

I will be purchasing this for sure.

Looks cool.

Back in Kuwait, I knew a lot of the bands that would play shows. Most of the bands would play covers though, and kept doing the same covers.. and a lot of times they didn't sound very good.. so I stopped going to the shows altogether. But most of the guys were awesome and there actually is a small scene in Kuwait. I heard there were lots of problems trying to get venues for the shows because of the government, but there still was quite a number of shows. I doubt that would be in the documentary though.
What also pissed me off is that I tried to get into one of the shows with a small band that I had, but they wouldn't let us play because the guy who was in charge of the show didn't know us. Thats how it is in Kuwait.. you gotta know people to get things done (especially in the government). They have a name for it, its called Wasta. Don't got Wasta, forget it.

I saw Duabi in that youtube clip, and thats cool. A lot of my friends take planes to watch Desert Rock, which happens once a year.
