no its not, id never ftp running on my machine for any prolonged time
and it's definately not explaining it that one time, ive explained some things my dad 500 times and he still doesnt get it
anyways, a large email account has other advantages.
if im in college, 30mbit internet connection, and ive no pen-drive/ zip disk/ blank cd, i can email something large to myself just as quick and download it when i get home

dunno what ftp is like in IE now but it used to be well bogey, plus the options with tranfer type etc makes it hard for ordinary users to get around

universality is a big plus for any technology and mail has that
