My name is Joe McGlynn and I am the vocalist for Godplayer
Where's the band from?
Godplayer are a Glasgow based band.
Who're your major influences?
My own major influences are early Slayer, Carcass, Iron Maiden
Anthrax, Cryptopsy and just about any thrash band from the 80s.
What's your local scene like?
The Glasgow metal scene is without a doubt one of the finest in Britain if not Europe just now, bands like Madman is Absolute, Left Hand Element, Co Exist are all heavy
weight contenders and are getting more and more recognition for their talents. Coming from Scotland it is very difficult to get recognised but with the bands that are
getting churned out now I dont see that continuing for much longer.
How can people hear your music?

If you could play a gig with 3 other bands, who would it be?
Thats a hard one. Ehm? Probably Slayer, Anthrax and Queen.
Fucked up mix I know but fuck it Queen rule!! Ha ha.
What's your best gig memory?
We were playing a venue in Glasgow called Nice n Sleazy, we were into our second song and the crowd was just full of Nu Metal kids looking at us like what the fuck.
So then I start running and jumped right off the stage and ran right into the middle of the crowd sending drinks and people flying over tables. What a night that was and I had to apologise to a lot of people for spilling their pints LOL.
What's your worst?
Nearly passing out on stage due to heat exhaustion, that sucked dick.
Would you describe your sound as Hot or Cold?
We try to keep a very organic sound and try not to make it to machine like with no emotion if you know what I mean.
What are you plans for the future?
To record our first album then hopefully get signed. Then after that - World Domination lol.
What song of yours should people listen to before any other?
Check out 4737 it has an element of everything we are.
If a label said they'd sign you for a 10 album, multi-million £ deal, providing you got rid of one of your members (you can choose!), would you do it?
Only if that other member were not putting in 110% would they be asked to leave the band.
What's your favourite album of all time, and why?
Reign in Blood by Slayer. Just listen to it!!
What was the main reason you became a musician?
For the love of music and to shag loads of birds lol. Only kidding Barbara.
How would you like to be remembered?
As a coffee table in the halls of metal fame ha ha ha.
