St.Pauli - FC Bayern München

Oléééé.. oléééé.. strip them off their leather trousers!

@Mal: Anytime. Definitely both albums from Necrophagist. The first is basically a one-man project (all instruments done by Muhammed Suicmez + a drum machine (but a very very real sounding one)), the second, Epitaph, was recorded by the whole band, thus is a bit more groovy than Onset (which is a brilliant, yet a bit cold, manifestation of awesome technicality).

If you are into stuff like this, bands like Spawn of Possession, Psycroptic, Gorod, Dying Fetus, Misery Index, Theory in Practice, Atheist, Spastic Ink, Martyr are a must.

I listen to loads of music, but I think the top level of my taste is occupied, besides the bands above, by bands like Solefald, Enslaved, Manes, Madder Mortem, Total Devastation, Atrox, Tactile Gemma, and other mostly scandinavian avant-garde (meaning really pushing the borders of metal music ad absurditum :)) bands. I can provide you with a more coherent list, if you want.

@incendo: Great song.

Yes, death metal forevah! :)

(See my post above) + I basically listen to all metal subgenres (and by that I mean the main boxes, so dont go stoner-sludge-math-gothic-doom-metal on me), with the exception of heavy, power and speed metal, and nu-metal (still, I have some favourites there as well, like old Helloween, Nevermore, old Metallica, Iron Maiden). Then Im very fond of anything that has the word "core" in its genre, again with the exception of metal core (but Dillinger is great, especially the ep with Mike Patton is one of the best records made ever), especially grind core and then hard core.

But then I listen to lots of non-metal stuff, I love stoner rock (QOTSA is an amazing band, Spiritual Beggars too), then rock in the vein of Radiohead, Muse etc., some punk (Pennywise, Rise Against), some ska (Ska-P), some electronic music (The Future Sound of London, Autechre and weird stuff like that), some world music, ethno stuff, klezmer etc. It has to have the feeling and heart, and the musicians have to be really good at what theyre doing - then its very likely that Ill like it.
