Placebo - Bulletproof cupid. <- amazing.

Yes, probably their "heaviest" stuff. A cool opener, also due to the fact that its an instrumental.

^ thanks to you, i can't listen to anything else but necrophagist right now. they even perform on summer breeze this year...

^ and ^^: are necrophagist really that good? what are they like? suggest one single song.

yeah, too bad they quit. but if i had to choose a kick ass drummer's tune, it would be death's "to forgive is to suffer".

They sound to simple for me. There's a bass riffs on seven that's interesting. But you can't really feel anything from their music.

Well, what a comment that was! You were refering to Necrophagist? Too simple? Are you fucking nuts?!! Please, please, please, do listen to both of the albums, listen very very carefully and THEN tell me what they do is simple. You are either a drum, guitar and bass genius or a total fucking stupid ignorant to be able to say such a thing. There are actually very few bands within the death metal genre that can "compete" with the complexity of music Necrophagist make. And I can fucking feel a lot when I listen to their stuff - the solos on Onset of Putrefaction bring a tear to my eye everytime I listen to them, the riffs on both records belong to the best riffs ever made (yeah, Mal is right, the opening riff in Seven is the riff of the 21st century), but Im sure you can come up with riffs like that whenever you feel like it.

But hey, this is typical. Most people say, yeah, yeah, technical death metal, wtf, only blasting and fast messy guitar work and unlistenable growling. Well, so be it - if you need a band which catches your ignorant attention on the first unconcentrated listen - youll never find it in really good death metal. If you like good music, you simply must give it what it deserves, your full attention. Yes, there are matters of different tastes, but your comments should be based on something solid. If youve heard something on their site and you felt hmmm ok, nothing special, fine, but THEN please do not make such comments about the band, because they are totally irrelevant and they break my heart.

Hey baby, the answer is yes. Its damn hard to pick one song. They are all awesome. But if I had to choose, Id go for Advanced Corpse Tumor, Extreme Unction and Fermented Offal Discharge from Onset, and Stabwound, Ignominious & Pale, Only Ash Remains and Seven from Epitaph. Give these a couple of listens and then tell me what you think, ok? :)

Hey, thats cool! Yes, its kind of hard to get into them, but once the spell is cast your idea of whats good in metal rapidly changes. At least for me it was like that. If time and money allow, Id love to go to Summer Breeze (at last).

i like "seven". overall it's a bit like meshuggah, but more straight.

Seven is amazing. But otherwise I dont agree. Meshuggah are ok, but their last albums were totally uninspiring, they repeat the riffs they made long time ago, and their complexity is sort of chaotic, they dont seem to have a clear idea of what their music should be like. Necrophagist are fresh, maybe more straight in the sense of composition (which mustve taken years anyway), but definitely not simpler.

Yes, I've only listen to the stuff they posted on their site, as I have done with a lot of other bands I like. I'm sorry if I insulted your taste in any way. But the band is just not cutting it for me. I can name a lot of bands that I like and love by hearing two songs by them: uneXpect, Hatesphere, Augury. I possess no albums from those bands, but I'd place them before Necrophagist on my list. Necrophagist just can't keep me interested. I've ran Seven more than 10 times by now through my headphones, I know all the riffs by heart except for the solo, and yet I've failed to hear how the opening riff can be the riff of the century. Ok, a few harmonics backed-up by low notes, and an ending down scale, how original. I'd place them before Deicide and the lastest Morbid Angel, but that's all. Maybe indeed I need to listen to more of them to make a definite comment, but for now, they don't impress me at all.

I don't have to worship the stuff I can't do, if I had to, I'd be kneeling before Metallica's St.Anger. Here I stand only as an amateur in music, one to appreciate it, it has nothing to do with the making of music. If they can't make music that amazes me, I shouldn't be blamed for the creation, because I didn't create.
