Good ol´ Bass Pod Xt Live vs Gt-10B

So from what I have heard/read I can conclude that gt-10b is better in all aspects, except on drives/fuzz where the pod shines. I find drives as an important part of my arsenal, it´s the reason why I want to upgrade from my bass v-amp who´s drives suck total ass. But on the other hand, I´m looking for the whole stop buying lots of pedals and huge amps setup for a simpler direct to PA and easily switchable sound, so I´m interested that the whole thing sounds well, including the amp models and effects setup and all that. gt-10b has XLR outs which the bass pod hasn´t, how much of a bummer is that for direct PA connection? can´t it still be plugged line in instead of mic in anyway? In the end I´ll most probably but the POD because it´s costing 300$ and I could buy it by July, to buy a boss gt-10b I would have to wait a lot more and I´m hoping to also buy a second bass by december so I find it difficult. But if the difference is really super important I´ll find the way to get a gt-10b. I know there are many bassists here, any opinions on these two things for the solution I´m looking for?

I´m a big Line6 fan for bass, but I would advise you to try to get a (guitar) PODxt Live or PODx3 Live instead of the Bass PODxt Live. The Bass PODxt Live has 6 band eq while the others have only 4, but what you gain in resell value and versatility getting the others worth the difference.

POD X3 live surely is worth it, the dual thing sounds pretty nice. But does the guitar podxt live have all the same bass stuff? amps and effects and all that? bass pod is 100$ less and is really on the borderline of what I could get right now, to get something more expensive I would have to wait a long time.

u would have to buy the bass package on the line 6 online store.. wich is an upgrade, i think the price is 99$ or 79$

You're talking about the Xt, not the X3 right? Im pretty sure the X3 does bring the bass and vocal packs. Yeah If besides paying 100 extra bucks for a guitar pod and 80 MORE for the bass pack, I'll go straight for the bass pod. Fuck resell value

me too, I'm pretty sure Lazzari was talking about the Pod Xt live, not the X3. I love your avatar btw

Yeah, I was gonna pick up an XT Pro before, but then I realised that I'd need all of these stupid expansion packs etc. To be honest, there are some great free ampsims out there at the moment, so I haven't looked at getting a POD since!
Thanks for the avatar comment btw! :D

you talking vst ampsims? cause I want the Pod for live situations, sure I could use it in recording but it's mainly live, so I can have my own exact same sound every show and I'm not taking an amp everywhere I go (I play a lot in other cities cause the metal movement in my own city sucks) so I'd just use a processor with amp modeling (currently a bass v-amp, not bad but could get much better) connected two ways: directly to the PA, and also to whatever amp is in the show for safety monitoring purposes (I have ear monitors but can't rely totally on whatever engineer is at the show to give me good bass on monitors)

If you don´t use fx on your tone I think you should consider a Sansamp Bass Driver DI (there´s a version where you can store three presets, if you use more than one tone).
It´s instant gratification, kind of cheap, built like a tank, great resell value, small and has a legendary tone.

yeah I know a sansamp bass driver would be awesome for an overdriven tone, and the programmable version is the one you mention. But I do use effects some times, I use a chorus and on special solo bass occasions a deep reverb for one band, and the other band I use an octaver (currently the behringer's Ultrabass which isn't too bad), If I could buy separate chorus, verb, octaver and a driver pedal it would be great, but I can't right now, and that's exactly why I'm looking to get a POD as an effective alternative to the whole various pedal/amp thing.

besides, a sansamp bass driver would have a HUGE resell value here since I have never seen one here, not in stores or in any bassists rig. Thing is If I buy on of those I wouldn't sell it ever, It's a superb solution for recording situations as well

I have a POD X3 Live which I really like but I'm honestly not a big fan of the bass amp models. It's like they are purely to use as just recording devices rather than amp sims you would want to play without a mix or play live with. I can't speak for the GT's bass amp sims though, don't own one.
