I just bought a new tube amp, I haven't ever played a tube amp before, but my solid state was not getting me good tone. It is a b-52 at-112 with stock tubes. I want a heavy, metal tone, like zakk wylde in some of his heavier bls songs () < that vid is an example of the tone I'm looking for.I'm looking for amp settings, tube suggestions, anything that will help me get that tone. I have this gear:
Schecter c-1 fr (active emg's)
b-52 at-112 (tube amp)
mxr fullbore metal (dont really use)
digitech rp150 (set to emulate a tube screamer overdrive pedal)
kirk hammet crybaby wah
any real help is appreciated.
Turning up the volume doesn't help.
Also if there is a certain pedal I need to get I can afford 1 extra pedal, I was looking at a tube screamer.
The things I like most of this tone is the heaviness and the growl it has to it, it's amazing.
