think twice, some of you, before you tell her bye. some deeper thinking has always brought people to more wise conclusions.

I wouldn't need to think twice in this case because I did not even think once. When one says bye, the polite thing is to say bye in return, a social habit. Though I may have not talked to Neverlady, it does not mean well-wishings are not present as she departs and goes about her day ... 'tis camaraderie.
